At the suggestion of my former boss, Bill Rozier of Ciena, I created a YouTube resume introduction video to help with my job search. To-date (after only being posted for six days) it has been viewed 243 times and has been embedded in two external blog posts. It has been a great talking point with prospective employers. I would encourage anyone wishing to make an impression among the masses, to create something unique like this video.
I should mention, though, that it is harder than it appears!
I had to contend with dogs barking, backhoes working, passing cars, the wind, gunshots (yes, it’s hunting season in New England), lighting issues, script revisions, sound quality, script issues, and more. I’d say this took roughly 6 hours and about 100 40-50 takes with several different script variations. Be prepared to stick with it for a while!
